What voids the engine warranty
Not entirely true, but close. With the engine, the labor done to install whatever you put in can also be blamed for a warranty failure. For instance, if you remove the engine from the car to do your work, they may not warranty your engine mount if you break it putting it back in.
I, for instance, had a bad MAP sensor after I reinstalled my engine. The dealership knew the engine had been removed and reinstalled, and would not warranty the part. I didn't argue, we probably did break it during the reinstallation.
What exactly are you wanting to do? That will help to plan which parts of you warranty can be preserved.

Right now i am looking at parts but the ls balt is faster than i thought it can keep up or beat a lancer rallart. I am looking at the turbo kits, we do alot of work on my dads 67 stingray corvet we basicly have everything you need for cars and i want to do some major work.
Well, "major" work would pretty much void your powertrain warranty. Your car warranty would still be fine. This is the situation I'm in right now. In fact, my car is in right now getting the heater fixed under its warranty.
I am looking into turbo- or supercharging. I would imagine that any internal engine failure after that would get blamed on the boost.
anything the dealer can find a reason to blame you for voids the warranty...... I have a 90,000 mile non-powertrain warranty
..... in with halfcent.... im all about the heater warranty haha.

I just recently installed cams and valve springs in my car, so the majority of my powertrain warranty is gone. That being said, the dealer screwed up the cam position sensor during the initial install, which in turn has caused the "Theft Module" to go bad. If they don't want to put that through warranty, I expect them to pay for it because the failure is directly related to the improper install of the cams, not the cams themselves. Basically, whatever you do will cause increased stress or premature wear on other parts. It is your responsibility to know where those changes start and end. If I blow a piston or my clutch starts slipping, I will not expect the dealership to put warranty through. Those can be directly linked to the increased power created by my modifications...
