I have a 2.2 g5 and while browsing around to buy an intake i noticed no one but K&N makes a 2.2 intake and a 2.4 intake. They look identical in the pictures. Only difference is that the 2.2 one is silver while the 2.4 is colored black. The prices are different though. I found the 2.2 one for $220 on ModernPerformance and the cheapest i found the 2.4 one was on TTR for $275. So what gives? Given ive read that 2.2 and 2.4 use the same aftermarket intakes whats the deal here? Is the extra $55 worth it? Im so confused...

 

They're the same thing basically. I had the k&n for the 2.4 and my friend has a k&n for the 2.2 on her 2.4 and it works the same. You trying to get the 2.4 because of the color?

nope only the B&M shifter plus but other than that 100% stock. I was actually planning on ordering some parts from zzp this week before getting the intake but right when i got my money they went out of stock on what i wanted. I wanted to buy the Header/dp combo first (with 1.5 primaries which they dont have as of now) to get the $50 discount they offer on your next purchase and then from there get the 2.4 intake manifold (none in stock either) with the le5 tb. But given my modders urge has been kicking in i figured id just go ahead and order the intake already.

So i should just stick with the 2.2 one right?

 

that or the intake tube I linked to you. its cheaper and does same thing lol

you planning on more mods or just keeping it simple with bolt ons? I went from a k&n intake to a supercharger kit lol maybe you've seen me around since we live in the same city

 

just plan on doing bolt ons for the learning experience since its my first car (kinda) then just enjoy the car for another year or two before selling it

im sure u see plenty of cars there but i have a buddy with an old school yellow camaro that goes there so maybe uve seen him.

im a car noob myself so ive never gone there maybe ill go one day when my car is fully bolted for a nice adrenaline rush and run a 1/4 mile in 18 seconds lol

wasn't really nervous just kinda didn't know what to do...I gotta figure out how to feather the gas better and also get my tune turned up cuz its pretty mild right now

 

Mines black and its for a 2.2 got it from thmotorsports. Maybe they sent the wrong one lol
