no, that's an intake manifold, there's some details about it floating around here somewhere.

 

That is a ported stock manifold, headers are not made from a casting. Pacesetter has ceramic headers for the 2.2L we can get anyone free shipping on these if they order in the next few days.

 

it says intake manifold..but that could be confusing to someone not knowing much, because of the picture of the header

 

when i looked at it it sayed and i quote "Extrude Honed Exhaust Manifold" that sounds like a "header" to me un less gm is lying.

That is a manifold.

In a true "header", all the individual tubes do not merge until the collector. This includes both primary and secondary tubes.

 

To clear up any confusion, this is an exhaust manifold. Not an intake manifold. I'm not sure why people thought in any way that it was an intake manifold.

A header is simply a specific kind of exhaust manifold. As mentioned, it is usually made from pipes welded together instead of being cast. It does not have to do with the runner tubes being separate until the collector or not. The pictured item is a "4-2-1" manifold, meaning it starts as 4 tubes, reduces to 2, then to 1. You can also have a 4-1, which skips the intermediate step.

That ad states "extruded and honed", meaning the tubes are made by forcing raw metal through a molding machine, and then polished. Hence, they are not cast. So yes, you can call this a "header"

There is the possibility that the item pictured is not the actual part. In fact, it looks a lot like a stock unit, and wouldn't be suprised if it was.

 

I had seen the Pacesetter header on your website. Only problem is Im not a big fan of how they connect. That "swivel type" ball joint just doesnt seem like it would seal very well. I would feel alot more comfortable if it were a flex pipe instead of that joint...

 

I just got the exhaust manifold in question. I'll take some pics after my camera recharges. It's cast, fairly lightweight and the exhaust section looks smoothed vs the intake portion.

So it might be kinda pointless to put on a 2.2 if that's all the gain you saw...

 

I have read on the rlforums that this manifold produced little gains over the stock manifold. I think your money would be better spent on an aftermarket header.

 

The thing is, it may yield more of a gain on the 2.2L than on the LSJ. The LSJ's stock manifold isn't that restrictive compared to the manifold on the 2.2L. I've been pondering this manifold for quite awhile now for my 2.2, but its going to be on the backburner for quite awhile.
