Which DP do you have? Is it the ZZP? If they are saying it is "illegal", they are full of s**t. Take your business somewhere else bro.

wtf?, how can an oem part be illegal
also, i think ur pretty much getting raped on the install of everything.
You should just do it urself, save some money.
That extra 500 probly could have gone toward a turbo setup.
That does suck though, id say if anything find a new shop cuz it sounds like whoever is doing your work right now has no idea what they are talking about and is charging you way to much

unless the cat is gutted or non exsistant than it is legal. tell the guy to swallow your **** and install the midpipe yourself. it takes literally 15 minutes to install a midpipe while up on jackstands. maybe 30 or 40 due to jacking it up then removal.

Yea man do the work yourself, I was a little wary of doing my own work at first, but as soon as I started I got the bug, and now I don't want to stop. I do work for everybody now lol

it depends on the state you are in... unfortunately in virginia, any modification to your exhaust that makes it louder then stock is illegal unless installed from the factory/dealer option upon purches of the vehical...

thank god my car is registered in michigan, so i get left alone in virginia about that kinda stuff

go to dyno inc. or millenium in portsmouth, or you can take it to dyno tuned performance in chesapeak

performance shop will do the work no questions asked

rear springs arnt bad at all, you will need jack stands and a srping compressor to swap them out (can rent one from auto zone)

the front on the other hand, you have to take the entire strut off, take it to a shop that has a hydrolic spring compressor and then swap out the spring and re-assemble

its safer with a hydrolic compressor... if you use the mechanical compressor it could slip off while you take the retaining nut off and send that thing rocketing across the room/area you are in.... happend to me once before so i swear by hydrolic compressors now

uhh ya, i think if i had a spring compressor slip i would use a hydraulic one to... lucky tht didnt happen but those things are under allot of pressure... could easily crack ur skull if the bolt hit ur head.

i got a reckless in chesepeake and it was 212 dollars... i was doing 84 in a 55 and got pulled, becasue some car passed me doing 95 at least and the cop said he would have been able to catch up with him.....

but no reckless in va is really not that much...

hey adam they can still hit you for te aftermarket parts on the car, becasue your perm. duty station is in va, while your car is registered in mich, its still housed here in va and they can get you for it, and they will win it. I happened to a guy at my command about a month ago. He went to court yesterday, and they made him submit a sr-22 to his insurance company, and his car his inspection sticker was pulled, he had 30 days to go back to stock or they pull his plates. His car was registered in pa too...

Its not the SS downpipe that's illegal, its removing a working OEM catalytic convertor that is against federal law.
