The header has the o2 sensor boss already in the header. Direct bolt up for the sensor. We have had them in stock for about 1 week now and we have sold 2 painted and 2 ceramic already. Just takes time for the customers to get the header installed. On the 2.2L you will see about 5-9 HP increase.

Ceramic is the way to go, as the painted will not stay black, the paint flakes off. Ceramic will stay show quality for years to come.

what about longevity? how long do you think the painted header will last? you can't even see the header really so show quality shouldn't matter. I would be more concerned with rust and how the material lasts.

The ceramic obviously will out last the life of the painted. If you have a ton of road salt and never was the underside of the car, it will be a lot harder on the painted version. As the Ceramic will take a bit more abuse.

So i've read you must cut the header pipe right at the cat, and have someone weld on the extension and then you can bolt up the header. Is this true, because its sounds like a lot of work ....

yes its true

also you want the extension put on the header first , then put the cat up , make sure you have clearence around the pipe , then tack weld it , pull the cat and extension down weld it

then reinstall it

i have the ceramic,i love the looks the power everthing...but yes it was a bitch getting them on they bolt up great and very easy only prob is the flang the trick is bolt up the flange first and then weld the cat see i had a leake because when it got welded on it didnt weld strait so the flanges didnt match up right so i had a little leak.......i didnt notice any bottom end grunt but the top is amazing i could be doing 75-80 on the freeway shift to fourth and pull like crazy...get the ceramic they help disperse heat better and they look good

this picture made it all the more clear of how this thing is installed

you cut the stock downpipe right where this extension piece ends and you weld it to the rest of your exhaust. so basically, install header...run open header to exhaust shop, $20 to weld piping and done.

OR

if you don't cut that piece like shown above, it gets smaller at the end and you stick it inside your stock piping and clamp it down...making it a direct bolt on. All you would have to do is possibly trim your stock downpipe a little bit so u can stick the piping inside.

Although I would rather weld it because then you don't have to worry about leaks.

Hope this helps...
