zzp question

http://www.zzperformance.com/cobalt_...=545&catid=155 I am so confused on what to order. I have an 08 Ls Auto/SAI I need the extra o2 bung and plug right? What do I do for the model and errr this is so confusing. is it just easier to get a shorty header and attach a lsj dp? I feel like the ZZP combo would fir nice and snug.

I have an 07 LS Auto non-SAI, but when I order mine, here are the options I will order:

Auto
1.5 high temp paint
magnaflow cat
mild steel dp
2.5 dp bolt-in
none selected or bung and plug (not sure what I'll do yet)
keep my dp

My plans for my car are Injen intake, midlength header/dp, lsj cat-back and possibly a tune. I won't be doing the 2.4 manifold, cams (can't anyway unless I get the ones from Bikeboyben14), or any other power adders. That is unless I go S/C in a few years...I'm going to try to save that money towards a Sky RL instead though.

i went with 1.75 primaries (stick to 1.5 if you're staying NA), ceramic coated, steel 2.5" DP, added cat, extra o2 sensor

No thread hijack, but can this bolt up to the stock manifold?

There is no header made to accommodate the SAI, unless you're getting it removed. That's why I asked if that downpipe would bolt up to the stock manifold cause I have the SAI too.

if you disconnect the SAI pump and leave it hanging (IE not connected to an exhgaust manifold) then it will throw a CEL. If you remove it compleely, you will have a different CEL. You need to tune it if you dont want CELs. I speak from experience

SAI started in '06.. so not just the newer cobalts

ok, here's the deal. if you have sai, you will have to remove the system to install your header. it's not hard to remove, you can pretty much look and see where the system is bolted in. me and orngbalt were one of the first to take it off, with no writeups or anything, and it was cake.

you will get a cel, unless you get the tune. but it will not cause any driveability issues, will just have a cel.

SAI is no big deal it just slightly improves your emissions, it took me 5 minutes to remove when i was putting my supercharger in, just have vince tune it out (if/when you get your 2.2 tuned) and you won't have to worry about it ever again, unless you fail your emissions test haha.

Well it's been in the Cobalt since 2006 and no one has took a swing yet. With Cobalt production ending next year I doubt they ever will.
