Your connecting rods will only handle up to 250 hp.

jn2, my base, and stenguyen easily had more than this.
the reason i know is because they've taken ss/scs that had that power, and stock tcs.
thats what they are rated at, but i had a 2.8 pulley with all the supporting mods possible and so do the other two cars. they handle the power just fine.
however with your boost its really hard to tell. what kind of turbo are you putting on? its a low level but 8 psi could still be a lot of power.
i'll put it the way zzp does. anytime you mod the car you're gonna stress the engine. if i were you i would do it and take it easy, and get a boost controller and gradually work your way up to a safe zone, and also start saving up money in case the engine does fail.
you're tranny however will def handle the tq, and the engine will go out before that will. just be safe with it, and use your head. you should be fine otherwise.

Boosting a stock bottom end L61 near 250hp isn't a question of if but when. It will go, and to be honest I've never seen a rod go, usually a ring, ringland, or piston skirt go first. I cracked a ringland N/A nowhere 250hp. Is it possible to make that on the stock bottom end, yes, guys have made 300hp on a stock L61 but they didn't last long. Stenguyens car made 263 and lasted for six months before piston#3 ended with 0 compression. Keep the power low and I don't see you having a problem at all many are going on years and years with lightly boosted L61s

I hate when people put PSI rating, it means nothing!!! 7lbs is different on every turbo no 2 flow the same. My buddies car ran 10psi but only made 235hp. Have you dynoed? I'm telling you give it time it happens sometimes not for awhile. I'm not saying its not possible to make decent power on the stock bottom end it is I know of quite a few cars that made over 250hp and ran fine for awhile(3 months to a year and half) but a WOT pull usually ends that fun

I hope your internals include sleeves there only good till 400hp.

Thats why I said around 260 WHP douche...
I Havn't dynoed my car, no. But I have ran cars that have, I know I'm pretty close to 260 with the cars that I've beaten and lost to.
I have a lead foot, so we will see if anything happens, but I think she's fine for now where she is at.

Thats fine I'm not saying its impossible but your boosting on cast internals which don't like alot of abuse. Some people get luckier than others no 2 engines are identical some will take more abuse than another. I can name 5 L61 powered cars that are making decent power on the stock bottom end, I can name just as many that got to decent numbers and caved, I can even name cars that did it with mild N/A mods. You get my point now. Its not a for sure bet its a gamble.

I like the odds for the moment.
It will be fully built in half a year so I'm not worried.
More so about the tranny being able to handle it. Gonna have to get something that can withstand more TRQ.

looks like the build is gonna take a little longer then i thought. talking with the wife about darton mid sleeves for the block and she is in agreement if it's best for the build then we need to go that route. the machine work is being done by a local race shop and close family member; got lucky on that one. i'm looking to push the boost well into the 20's on stock cr with a froged bottom end and those neat little sleeves.

Sleeves are the way to go why build it if your just going to hit a snag when you want more power. The price adds up but you will spend less in the end.

He was saying sleeves were the way to go, so the block doesn't end up being your snag in the end.

IDK, REALLY random comment from out of nowhere, really.

that's what i get for being at work all damn day. and i gotta paint in this bitch after hours. well their paying for my engine, parts and vacation time to get the work in so i won't complain too much.

i just don't want to worry about a sleeve failing in my pursuit for pride and power. the bottom end is gonna be a one shot deal now. i'm not looking for anything more the 500hp and the sleeved bottom end should be good for that. was thinking of having cus' work on the crank but i don't think it'll do much good under 500hp. i don't plan on revving the **** outta it but a 7.2k redline would fit my fancy just fine.........worry bout the trans later.

Exactly what I meant I've seen to many put rods and pistons then crack or shatter a sleeve down the road its disheartneing.

I would't touch the crank it might reduce the overall stength and supposedly 500hp is the point when the crank becomes to the weak point. I'm pretty sure Hahn made 600hp on the stock crank but I don't remember. Its sad that Eagle discontinued there crank so early now the only options are extremely expensive.

it's funny but this is the beginning of the end. i'm almost 3 steps from gutting the interior. i'm moving toward performance period and everything else just seems like extra **** that's taking up space and adding weight. never thought i'd want to gut my baby but it seems more and more logical with each passing day. it's all about the sacrifice and in this case the ride and handles mean more then the great-grandma creature comforts. i feel like this car has gotten a life all its own.

Eh the only time it bugs me is the summer, no AC, black car, no tint, and consistent 97+F. But its all worth it when you romp on cars with less power but your power to weight ratio is better, and if they are faster thats what the nitrous is for.
