Noorjariri did it with a 2.4 and he basically just had bolt ons and a tune. The highest hp 2.2 NA is like 160 something and that's going all out with cams, bolt ons, tune, etc.

It's 155 in stock form, so I would think just a 5 hp gain after doing all that is crazy talk. No offense meant.

Even if we're talking whp, I would think you would end up with more than 160 after cams, exhaust, bolt-ons, and a tune.

155 hp in stock form is at the crank. 160 hp is at the wheels.

Read the dyno thread a post above this. Most stock 2.2's are lucky to make 125 at the wheels so 160 is a quite a bit higher than stock. Still sad gains for all the money spent on that setup though

the 2.2s only have 155 crank hp. seen them dyno anywhere from 110-125whp stock
the 2.4s have 171 crank hp. dyno around 140-155whp stock

But the chart doesn't stipulate if these 2.2s are the 155 LAP or the 143 L61 that I could see.
I promise that I'm not trying to be confrontational and not even sure why I'm replying since I plan on supercharging my 2.2 LAP HHR Panel. Don't even own a Cobalt. Y'all ain't gonna run me off are ya. LOL

A 2.4 can go over 200 to the wheels easy with the ZZP Cams.

Im not sure how far you could push the 2.2 but let me do a little research

so the 2.2 LAP is 10:1 CR
2.4 LE5 is 10.4:1 CR

after looking around, your head is the same, cams a re smaller and less displacement, but you cam phasers are the same.

IMO swap a 2.4 in your car, do all the bolt ons, and some cams. tune and you will deff be over 200 WHP. you can find 06-07 LE5s for $400 or so in a Junk Yard, and those years used a forged crank and rods.

Is the 2.4 gunna be something that is just going to go in? If you gotta modify that's not worth it for 200 horses

If the 2.4 adn LAP use the same mounts then yes. adn from what i see they do. should be a bolt in. you may need the PCM from the donor car, im not sure. but all you harnesses and sensors may just simply swap over to the LE5 as they both use VVT. and like i said the cam phasers use the same P/N

Can someone confirm the 2.2 and 2.4 have similar mounts? Might think about building a 2.4 motor if so

ask zzp if there mounts work with ur 2.2 if they say yes get a Le5 pull ur head off u 2.2 and put it on the 2.4 block and drop that thing in in the car..the only thing is that i would find out if the 2.2 and 2.4 use the same flywheel. that might be ur only problem.
