Building for turbo

So I'm gonna be getting the ZZP turbo kit later this year and just want to see what else I need to upgrade. Getting pistons rods and valve springs. Anything else I should need to do? Only plan on making ~350hp

head studs are a VERY GOOD idea. you'll need some small things and i would suggest a new timing set for both chains.

and get a ky stage 3 clutch

I'm an auto so no need fr a clutch. With studs I'm guessing head gasket would be a good idea while I'm at it? And what compression would be recommended for pistons, stock or 8.9?

Maybe look to find out how strong the auto trans are. Not sure myself but I wouldn't want you going out and doing it without knowing how long your trans might last first.

Theyre supposedly good to like 350 lb/ft torque, but I'll prolly get a built one once it dies

auto trans tends to go quickly on turbo cobalt's. it's real easy to exceed the toque limit even on a mild boost build. stay under 10psi depending on the turbo or start looking for a built trans now.

and yes, i've been there and done that. my trans is built and has a posi-diff.

im looking into getting pistons and rods but i dont know the specs of our engine, where can i find that info? and here is the Email that Tim from ZZP sent me about the auto Trans:

"We use Certified Transmission in downtown Grand Rapids for our tranny builds. But the invoicing would be done right through ZZP. We could upgrade the chain and gear set, and rebuild the trans with our standard tweaks and upgrades. I would guess it would be around $1800-1900(rebuild & hard parts) plus about $500 to do the actual R&R. Our featured ZZP 2.4L Cobalt has this trans.

Thank you for your business,

Turbo Tim

I'll have an LSJ bottom end available in a few weeks. I also have k1 rods and diamond pistons bnib currently for sale. You could ideally make yourself a nice hybrid build.

Bro I have honestly no idea what will and will not fit in different engines beyond my LSJ. That's why I was suggesting a completely different route. Read the hybrid engine swap thread. I believe there's a lot of good information about what parts are interchangeable.
