building turbo kit

im looking to start putting together my own turbo kit. I was thinking of just getting a k04 with lnf mani, hotside charge pipe, intercooler, and use custom piping for the cold side. maybe use part of my injen intake. use a custom down pipe and put together the rest of the parts as they come along. im no turbo expert but I have read almost all of the turbo builds in the l61 section and it does not seem hard. the things im not to sure enough on are what injectors to use and where to put the MAF sensor. I was thinking maybe using the k&n intake for lnf and put the MAF there. I'm just posting to get some more info so I can purchase the correct parts. I know I also need a bov and waste gate. besides everything I noted is fhere anything else im missing? I think thats all I could think of.. lol

I thought riceburner had sold the k04? and I think it had a crack on the turbo manifold. I saw someone here selling the k04 with exhaust manifold and oil line and vacuum lines I think for $650.

I might pick that one up

If you're not building the engine then the ko4 should do fine. Axelthered has a build thread/how to about doing just that.

I find it funny that people say the k04 sucks when my 2.2 with the k04 easily beats a stock LSJ with just 10 psi of boost, just saying puting the k04 on a 2.2 is beter than than the M62 power potential wise

It depends how much power you want. Being faster than a stock lsj isn't much of an accomplishment in the grand scheme of things.

well to be honest I just want a little power not trying to go 12 seconds on the track. just wanna have a little fun. I have fun with my car n/a but need it just a bit faster. I just want to start off small and if I like it might just build on that to a better turbo
