can you really?
so for the past few days i have been helping a buddy of mine out with installing a turbo on his 2.2 ecotec cobalt. 08 model and he didn't want to tap his engine for the oil feed/drain lines so instead hes gona use an oil catch can to use it like a ''mini'' oil tank for the turbo and just have the lines go to the tank instead of the motor
how bad could this turn out? LOL

im gona have him look at this post in the morning XD im pretty sure he's thinking that if a ''pro-charger'' doesn't need oil lines then a turbo would be like the same thing lol but pro-chargers are no where near the heat of an exhaust.
only thing you have to tap is oil pan for return line or buy a bung and weld that in. you dont need to tap the block for oil, there are 3 spots on the front and back under the head behind the coolant hose that you can use.
not sure if trolling....
no, that is not going to work at all. a "catch can" does not actually contain oil. nor is it ever filled with oil to act like a reservoir. and what it IS filled with, i do not want running through my turbo.

He wasnt really referring to a 'catch can' as much as a reservoir from what it seems. It looks like he wants to run a full oil circulation setup separate from the engine, which would probably work fine. but there is no point in doing that as it is much simpler to pull a galley plug off the back of the block for oil feed and drill/tap pan for oil return
