First of all, welcome to the site!!!!!
Secondly, you should really do a search on this subject and delete BOTH of the threads you started before people rip you a new anus.
There are no "chips" for our engines(GM hasnt used chips since about 95 or so) Your looking at the JET Module.
This module tweaks air/fuel/ignition inputs to the ECM to get better performance
A "tune" is using computer software to change current software parameters in your engine control module in order to get top performance.
Please search, and again, I dont think these threads will make a good impression on you as to how this can realy be. You may want to seriosuly consider deleting them and starting over.

a tune is when someone plugs in a computer to your cars computer and adjusting alot of special electronic controllers that are embedded into the cars software, doing this can increase HP, torque, and even MPG. There is one person on here I'd figure could tune u and that's psychosteve with the Mustang signature, he's a master tuning machine

Honestly the original post is not what you should be asking. You dont know what the difference between a chip and a tune are. Google that **** or even search it here. I dont see why everyone here has to ask about stuff they dont even know what it does.

Had he asked the difference between a chip and a tune I would have had no problem being nice but him asking about something typically indicates he knows the difference, or atleast knows both are intended to do the same thing eccept one is cheaper.
Had he wiki'd and google'd those terms he would have gotten the answer without hastle. It is like all the threads that are about where to find a 3" exhaust for a 2.2 with no mods.
Btw, I have no problem being wrong but atleast I understand the concept of the search button.

How bout you actually do some research before you ask on a topic you know nothing about? Chip and Tune are not Cobalt sensitive terms, they relate to anything with fuel injection a.k.a. things made before consumer computers(eccept for the mechanical fuel injected cars of the early 80's).

truth, chips are only good on some makes and models, usually only older ones but occasionally there is a new car that u can just slap a chip in it for the retuning process but it's still better to get someone with experience to tune your car, you will always net better MPG and HP with someone who has tuning experience.

Despite what you have been told, chips do not exist.
In today's terminology, a "chip" is a resistor that replaces your MAF sensor, which to uneducated logic would "make more power" but in reality, it makes your car run like ****.
