2010 Cobalt LT muffler delete - YouTube

i have the same car. 2010 2.2 same trim and all
i currently have a magnaflow muffler and was thinking of getting a drop in K&N or short ram

which sounds better?

 

I'd go magnaflow and catless later. Too much drone/rasp in the muffler delete. It will also get slightly louder and deeper when a load is put on the engine.

H&Rs by the looks of it or B&Gs. Not a fan of the muffler delete sounds worse in person.

 

I do have a lnf but mine actually sounded better than with stock muffler with stock cat back.. Now the straight 3 inch is kinda rough

 

How much do they run? Used?
And I wonder if these would cause my struts and shocks to go out soon for just being a 2.2

Get the full K&N intake, the drop in does not help nearly as much.

 

Yea LNF's sound good with the delete, the 2.2 not so much unless its turbo'd.

Not sure, B&G's are around $250 new. And yes they will kill your struts and shocks. I put my sportlines on FE5's.

I had a muffler delete on mine.
It was loud, like really loud sounded good though.
Made Honda's heads turn everytime.
Only thing is when you're slowing down it pops like fire works.

muffler delete sounds terrible, your car sounds much better

 

jesus i got 2.2 L with not just a muffler delete its a full 2.5 inch with hi flow cat and pacesetter header and 3.5 inch tip ...good god its stupid loud if ur cruising it sounds like ur built if u floor it it sounds sick to but getting on it alittle driving down the road and not mashing the gas it sounds like my A** after a fresh POO!

 

No, just no, do not remove your muffler, ever.

Want an idea on what it'll sound like? Disconnect your exhaust at the bottom of the downpipe and get some bailing wire to hold the pieces up. Drive around a bit and see how ridiculously annoying and raspy it is. Yes I realize there will be a bunch of pipe and a resonator, it will still be obnoxiously loud.
