I Smell Gas.... Help!!!
So here's the story, my car got rear ended about a month ago, minor bumper damage got it fixed insurance paid for it hooray, but after the wreck and all I smell gas inside and out of my car. Mostly outside sometimes inside. It's not overwhelming or anything, but it's there. When I was getting my car repaired I had their mechanic look at the car: fuel lines gas tank and everything to make sure there was nothing busted or leaking and all checked out good. BUT I STILL SMELL IT. So frustrating because it worries me. Any suggestions as to what it could be??
Oh yeah and I tried to take my car to a dealer to have a second person look at it and they said it would take the "mechanic" a week to look at it and I can't afford to do that because I have to drive 30 miles to work everyday. Oh and they said once they get it in they may send it back because of my CAI.
ANYWAYS, any help is greatly appreciated.
P.s. not sure if this has anything to do with it or not because this just recently started, but in the mornings when I first start my car for the day it will crank for 2-3 seconds and then start up vs just starting right up.

Well then id call the body shop and make an appt. They cant deny you anything cause of a CAI at the dealer there just using scare tactics which is retarded as warranty work pays MORE than customer! How is a CAI going to let a fuel vapor into the cabin of the car? Have you looked underneath and all looks ok no wet spots or evidence of a leak?

I've looked multiple times, no visible wet spots or leaks. The body shop is the one who had the mechanic look a it in the first place and said everything is good

Back when i was looking into tech jobs they did but this way along time ago! When my bro worked at BMW warranty work most def paid more as it was just about all they got with the free up keep thrown in! If your smelling fuel call them and demand an appt and that they take a look at it. Cause if there is a leak and it starts a fire somehow the body shop will end up buying you a new car!

Trust me, GM warranty work certainly does NOT pay better than out of warranty work. I have to listen to our techs complain about how cheap GM is on warranty work all the time. Your bro probably got paid better with BMW because BMW actually cares about their employees, and wants to make sure they do a good job taking care of their customers.
