Milk on Oil Cap WTF
Milk on Oil Cap WTF
well im kinda mad right now, my car has 8k on it, the supercharger build has not started at all, and it seems like its going to get delayed some more....All i have on the car is an Injen Intake and a cat back system.
I go to do my second oil change, take off the oil cap and see the dreaded milky substance which only means nothing nut moisture in the oil....the question is how? I do not beat on the car at all and I cannot imagine that the headgasket is blown already....Should I take it back to the dealer?

that is the reason right there....the engine does not get warm enough to evap the moisture in the crankcase. Wipe it off and go for a long drive.....that will fix it.
As long as the oil in the pan isn't chocolate milk, it's nothing to worry about. Even then, just change the oil and keep an eye on it to make sure it isn't coolant getting into the oil. Driving through high water can cause water to get sucked in through the seals (happens all the time in the differentials of 4x4's when you do a lot of water crossings).
I had this recently. Cap looked bad but the oil was just fine when I changed it out. Like they said moisture builds up and if you don't heat the engine up for long enough it just wouldn't full evaporate. Nothing to worry about though.
i wiped it a couple weeks ago and it came back...thats what i was curious about...but it sounds like its just my short commute to work every morning....hopefully will goawaw with warmer weather
