Nos

I plan on supercharging my 09 in the spring. The mods i plan on having is 2.9 pulley 42# injectors and option b but i'm wondering would it be safe to run a zex safe shot nitrous system on a stock 2.2? Thanks

"NOS" has become a genericized trademark of sorts. Its like Tylenol and Kleenex.

List of generic and genericized trademarks - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

See how many things on that list you've been calling by some brand name all along.

Anyways, as far as the OP goes, when it comes to the 2.2, you have to keep your HP at a safe level if you're not upgrading the rods. As long as you keep your total crank HP under 250, you should be safe.

That being said, a shot of nitrous could possibly get you in trouble quickly with a 2.9

To much cylinder pressure for stock 2.2 rods n bearings but go for it holes in blocks or spun bearings are fun

As far as the block it self goes i hear it can handle quite a bit..i know i have to worry about the rods but the zex safe shot nitrous system says it adds 15-35hp or you can buy the upgraded kit to add 55-175 shot which i know would be way to much. So pretty much adding the extra 15-35 hp on top of what i gain from installing the supercharger it would be to much for the motor to handle?

The 2.2's block isn't the issue, its everything else. The stock block has been able to withstand 1000HP from GM performance's builds, but they had to replace just about everything else in the process.

I'd say go ahead and do the supercharger setup and see where you're at on power (Through a dyno) and re-evaluate from there.
