Odd Problem

I've noticed lately that my car gives off an odor from the exhaust that smells like gunpowder or fireworks... It's really weird. - I googled it, and found some suggestions like the car is running rich, or my cat is bad... anyone have experiences with this? How would I check this out further?

I would say it is you cat. How many miles you have on it. A bad cat will smell like sulfer, a fart, fireworks, rotten eggs.

Sulfur smell is actually usually caused by reactions created by using a particular fuel. if the cat was truly bad it would set a code or be hampering performance. Exhaust smell is not a good indication of health of a catalyst

A bad cat does smell. I've had many bad cats in my 39 years and I know what they smell like. What do you mean by "particular fuel" ? I run 93 in mine. Are you talking exxon or gomart?
