is it possible to get high?
is it possible to get high?
my mods by this month will include..
ZZP headers
ZZP downpipe
Magnaflow high flow cat
tsudo catback exhaust
K&N CAI
I started a 155 HP i want to see if i can touch 200 staying naturally aspirated. If i did cams and a tune you think i will be there?

yes its my car. i have it on sportlines. i think you can prolly do it but you will prolly have to get some decent cams and get a good port job on your heads to help it.
No offense, but what makes you think you are at 155 hp? My 2.4 only had 155 at the wheels and that was with an intake and catback.
You are probably looking at starting somewhere around 135. Only thing that's going to get you close to 200 is some big time engine work or forced induction.

A 200whp 2.2 with just bolt-ons and a tune? Don't think so. My 2.4SS has a full exhaust (CA v1 header, XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe, ARK N2 cat-back), an AEM CAI and its HP Tuners tuned....and i'm willing to bet that if I dynoed it i'd be around 175whp....180whp AT BEST.
lol im sure the hp numbers he's talkin bout is at the crank. we all know thats a high number for 2.2 at the wheels. but 200 at the crank would still take some serious engine work. a ported head 2.4 mani cai full exhaust probably stage three cams and raise the compression ratio up might yeild a lil over 200whp with an agressive tune, and hell no all that wont be no where near cheap. you're talkin close to 10k worth of work to get there.
I just wanted to add nice thread name. If you really wanted 200whp you would deffently need interal engine work like high compression, cams. injector, port the head, hell maybe even stroke it a bit , and then a good tune.
word of advice get a good lightwieght flywheel and you will see an increase in power
Well, either start reading up on it, and put your own kit together, or you could just talk to your local speed shop, they'll help you out.
You may also want to talk to Vince at Trifecta, or over to ZZPerformance who are currently working on a 2.4L Turbo to see if they have any ideas.
Or you could could call Garrett directly, since they made the kit for the old 2.2's... www.turbobygarrett.com.
I don't know how different your engine set up is than the L61, but it may be a direct match up w/ the Garrett kit, just in need of a tune.
I wouldn't hold my breath for anyone to make a 'Hey, here's your turbo' package. You have to voice what you want and have the cash, or figure it out on your own
