Yesterday when i was driving to my friends house my car suddenly made a loud beeping sound and started running weird. i looked at my dash and it read, "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" so i was like uh.... wtf? what happened is what exactly it read, my engine power was reduced, significantly. it was bogging around and sounds like it was under water and it was idling from 600-1200. my friend thankfully had a obd2 handheld and we plugged it in and it read something about the throttle. my friend cleared the code and it was smooth sailing. can anyone explain to me what this is? the only mods i have is a catback exhaust if that has anything to do with it. also would the exhaust technically void my warranty if there is a bigger problem related? thanks guys, all input appreciated.

 

mine does it too man, but ive come to figure that if u shut the car off, wait about 5 minutes, it starts right back up, havent had a problem in about 3 months might b the throttle body or maf sensor, throws the same code every time this happens to me yet chevy replaced my throttle body soo mayb my maf sensor is going bad

 

Its a Recall GM had. You should have gotten a letter. It has to do with your Cat. Mine did it, had to disconnect the battery and all crank sensors for it to start again. Now my cat took a **** on me and now I have a nasty exhaust leak. The cat rattled like hell! Thankfully Monday I take it to get replaced. Not sure what other years it has a recall on but my 05' did.

 

i got my cat changed already, saying **** it though and going catless

im doing a turbo kit in a few weeks and going catless so what should i take this out with the reflash or will trifecta take care of it when i tell them what i have?

 

either would probably fix this problem
