i am posting this becuase i am curious as to why all the basic mods like intakes and chips and tunes do not apply to the 08. i know it is rated from the factory with 177 instead 171. this may seem like a silly question and i know im a noob, but if anyone cares to discuss this i could use some answers. like whats the diff.

 

05-07 is better bc the 08 gm made the ecm all messed up lol

 

They used a different ECM for the '08, Im not sure why or what exactly the benifet is but they did it anyways. Thats why theres not alot of tuning support for it yet. I think one company has unlocked the new ECM but cant remember the name. But all other mods can work with the 08 LE5 as long as it doesn't require a tune. So an intake/exhaust will still work fine.

im sure they will fit just the same but when you go to k&n website or aem they dont list the same products for the 08 as they do the 05-07. if this is the case i shoulda got the turbop and said f it oh well i might just trade it for a stang in a coulpe of years

Intakes are the same for the 2.2 and 2.4L and for all years so any intake listed for a 05-07 2.2 or 2.4 will fit on a 08. They only changed the ECM for 08 not any engine components.

 

The 08 uses the E37 ECM. It is supported by LS2-Edit, Vector (canned), and I think Trifecta (canned). EFIlive and HP Tuners do not support the E37 ECM.

anyway is the 08 more likely to give a cel with this stuff. i think it kinda sucks if u think aboutr it who is going to make stuff for a one year specific run. i think the le5 got the axe after 08. oh and will the jetchip work

 

06 like mine will have the oil cooler in it, the 07 ups will not.
