2.4 C/A H and DP question.
I was thinkin about getting the Cobalt Addiction header and downpipe with the high flow cat. I'm concerned about it sounding like crap though. I dont want it too loud and I hate interior drone. I have a Corsa Touring CB right now and it sounds good but its not quite as hmm... "Authoritative" as I would like it. Any help?

its gonna get louder any way you look at it, ****, with my new cams at 3000rpm, I have to crank the music cause the engine is so agressive, and I dont even have the header/dp on yet

the downpipe and header will yes be louder cuz the stock stuff is very restrictive. our cars open up to a nice downpipe. the cobalt addiction stuff is made very well. im a local to the shop and im there all the time. they work there butts off to help our cars perform. good ****. interior noise..ah not that much. only really if u get engine mounts and tranny mounts. it would be that bad.

if you're looking to keep it very quiet, don't get a header and dowpipe... it's going to make it loud, doesn't matter what setup you have... especially with a cat back... i have a cat back and the c/a downpipe, and the thing is LOUD...

Did you do the cat back first? I was wondering how much louder it was with just the cat back, and how much the down pipe added.

maybe this is specific to the 2.4 but honestly a header and downpipe didn't make my car much louder if any at all...
all i got was that stupid exhaust leak sound but loudness didn't really change...

its not gonna change by much. maybe a lil louder and deeper in tone. but u will def gget more gain than the stock stuff. i mean the c/a header dynoed 10whp on a 2.4 then plus a downpipe. ull see possibly around 20whp gain. not bad for a header and dpipe.

I have a CA header, 2.5" b-pipe w/cat and corsa touring cat back on my 2.4.
I installed the Corsa first - deep throaty sound, but pretty quiet. No drone.
Next came the header - a little louder; tone and pitch unchanged.
Then came the b-pipe - much louder, not as deep and throaty and rattles a little at WOT.
However sound aside, with the full exhaust and header it is much more responsive with my Westers tune. It winds quicker and has that bad ass, don't mess with me sound. Still no drone.
A month or so ago I was getting on an the interstate coming home from work. A stock looking and sounding srt-4 was behind me, weaving left and right, getting close then dropping back, like he wanted to play. I punched it getting on the on ramp. Looking in my mirror, at the end of the ramp, I noticed the srt-4 had backed way off.
Now, he could have easily taken me if he wanted to, so what changed his mind? After hearing the sound of the car, I'll bet he thought I was a modded SS/SC and he got nervous and backed down. Chalk one up to the intimidation factor of a raucious exhaust. My e-rams and injen make a wierd, throaty wooshing noise too (heard inside the cabin,) but I doubt he heard them over the sound of the exhaust.

I'll probably be going to No Problem Raceway this Saturday (work permitting) with some of the LA ss.net members.
So I'll try to bring back a vid of the 1/4 mile run. Someone will surely have a camera handy.
