what would be the best way to go off brand for an exhaust on our cars? i know nothing bigger than 2.5". but with cat/not cat? with muffler/no muffler? i like loud so thats not a problem but i DO NOT want any rasp or fart can type sounds.

 

2.5" with cat. Catless on our car barely helps it imo. Just pick a high flow cat

 

Dude do not go catless it'll be beyond loud. Just do as other suggested and stick with getting a highflow cat. Get a good header like clear image or zzp along with a 2.5 inch downpipe and hiflow cat and for the exhaust just change out the 2.25 section by the rear axel with 2.5 inch piping and add a magnaflow muffler. It'll sound real nice and you get some good power.

 

ya there is a place here that makes a 2.5" mandrel bent catback for my car for 125 or 250 i can't remember now but without a muffler.

for the header should i get long tube, short tube, mid length?

 

why are you doing stuff to you car if you are trying to sell it?

 

mid length is the best thats what i got . i got it from clear image. you can go shorty header but you wont get as much hp.

 

lol i'm just too lazy to change the sig. that's been up there for awhile, long enough to get to 25k miles driving in just the city lol.
how much did that run ya? and how was the install? pretty much an at home job? or would i need a lift to get under there. i have a good jack and jack stands.

I've got the ZZP midlength setup with a high flow cat with a 2.5 from mandrel exhaust systems. Increased airflow Magnaflow muffler. I put it on and it was loud and raspy as ****, so I added a Magnaflow resonator and it sounds like SEX. Awesome setup IMO. Decent gains and sounds great, loud with no rasp

 

what sized resonator? u get the one from mandrel exhaust systems

 

I got the same exact setup with a Borla muffler from MES. Has a deep mellow tone. It turns heads without people looking crazy at you. Using an 18" Magnaflow resonator. I love it!

 

about how much did that set up run ya?

 

4-1 header its better for high end power. And yeah i heard mandrelexhaust.com make decent stuff for the price. Just make sure you get the resonator 18 inch well be just fine.

 

go with clear image header and downpip with a mandrel bend exhaust with a magnaflow muffler. mine sounds awesome.
