2.4 exhaust

ok so today i went to go get my exhaust done. after reading alot on css i found out the restrictive spots are the header, resonator, and where it bottles down to 2.25" at the axle. now when i got my car up on the lift i found out the exhaust doesn't bottle down at the axle. it may go from 2.5"- like 2-3/8" it has a very small if any shrinkage there. but i discovered a new problem which lies in the DP. the piping on the DP has to be like 2" it is damn small.

so today at the exhaust shop i just hads him delete the resonator and add a 40 series flowmaster muffler and had him cut the stock tip off and put it on the new muffler. it sounds awesome. so next thing i will be getting is a header/dp combo cuz t is needed bad.

now i want to go dyno just to see if there is any difference at all. i know i would be extremely lucky for a 10hp change maybe 5 is more like it. but than i want to dyno after i get the header and DP, than dyno after tune which will be trifecta through pyros.

and i noticed that my car does have a litt mor eget up and go, not so much like more HP but a better reaction to me pressing down on the gas pedal. more responsive is word i guess lol. especially around 50-60mph

OD=outside diameter?? and i don't think it looked like 2.25 it seriously looked maybe a hair smaller than the 2.5" piping.

i thought about that but i'm an auto and i think there are fitment issues as in when i put it on it's shorter than mine. and also i don't think that on eis 2.5" all the way through either.

i'm just going to order the ZZP midlength with 1.5" primaries and a 2.5" catless downpipe

you will find the most out of a downpipe. header not so necessary. i noticed a difference right away. you will probably lose some HP, but gain some more low end Tq

I was thinking between the CIA and ZZP Header and downpipe. Should I just go with the DP and what brand should I stick with? I'm tuned and have a stock exhaust system.

Also, if I were to build a custom exhaust, what would I expect to pay?

i recommend a header/dp combo not just a dp. also if you don't like loud/rasp DO NOT get catless.

I don't mind loud so long as it's not ricey. A little roar wouldn't be so bad. I just don't want both cuz I'll retune after. What's a good brand
for the header?

The exhaust doesnt sound that bad. But definitely not good. a cat or a resonator would help out greatly!

Though you should throw up a video of your car doing 0-60.

it's a pretty noticeable difference. if i'm driving and slow down to 30 and than go into I gear and punch it i'll spin the tires lol. and if i punch it from a dig i scratch 1st to 2nd.

I will end up tuned after emissions and after I get my new downpipe in. Though was told that if you tune the secondary o2 out then you will still fail emissions. So im hoping the secondary o2s threshold can be lowered so it doesnt get triggered due to a hi flow cat.

Though up a pic.

I'm glad we don't have to deal with emissions in backwoods Ohio. Everyone drives big diesel trucks with enormous turbos and the cops seem to just deal. No one will look twice at a sport compact with a catless downpipe and straight pipes. At least in my end of the world.
