2.4 exhaust, cai, header, downpipe

this is what im saving for a exhaust for my 2.4 from the dealer is that a good deal, for 450 not installed. is the header from them any good to match the exhaust, 250 is that a good deal. and downpipe i believe the only place i can get that is cobaltaddiction.com. i think there about 280 downpipe with highflow cat. is that a good deal. no i dont need 3 inch exhaust but if thats all the dealer has then i have to get everything 3 inch. now should i let the dealer put on the header? and i can put on the exhaust and downpipe if there all the correct size. now as for the cai i would like an injen but people say its oiled thats not good. or i can make my own intake for cheaper than 250 bucks. and buy the filter. but if anyone has any ideas about everything let me know thats alot.

i don't understand what you're asking at all... but DON'T get a 3" exhaust, none of your exhaust should be 3" on a 2.4. don't go above 2.5"

you are on the right track,DO NOT go 3' un less you plan on going big.all three items are easy enough to put on yourself(follow the "how to") in the how to section and this will help you.

First off, your typing is hard to follow. Maybe its the 'dro talking.

Either way, I bought an intake off Ebay for 90 bucks. And its just as good as an Injen, trust me. Oiled filters are okay as long as they are not excessively oiled.

You dont need anything bigger than 2 1/4" cat-back if you have perfect bends. Period. Not unless your going forced induction. Supercharged Grand Prix s usually dont have more than 2 1/2" piping untill they pass over 300 whp.

250 is good for a performance header as long as its dyno proven to gain power.

280 for a pipe and a cat is a ripoff. Find a high-flow from Dynomax or Magnaflow or something, spend 100 bucks on the cat and like 50 or so to get some piping welded onto it. Or just 86 the cat and find 02 simulators.

Uhm... oh, lastly. Dont ever pay to get an exhaust hung unless you need welding or bending. There is no skill involved in that. Plus dealers average 80+ dollars/hour labor. The manifolds on the 2.4 are rediculously easy to get off, especially if you have low miles, but still easy if you dont.

Hope that helps a little.

thanks guys

yeah thanks guys. i also looked earlier today at cobaltaddiction.com they have a xtc intake its coming soon and they dont have any pictures i dont know if thats any good or not cuz its only like 150 bucks i think. and i really dont want to make anything for my exhaust id rather pay money to know its done right but if its over 100 bucks cheaper i might. and as far as intakes go i think the injen one is the best until someone said that they were oiled alot. i also though of just finding some good thin stainless steel or aluminum and making my own intake the right size diameter to fit the throttle body and filter i think it might be 3 inch OD piping if im correct for the intake. im not to sure where to get a header yet either. well see you later.
