2.4 peeps, you need to try this!

I ran across this “butterfly” style exhaust. I have never seen it before on any cars, but looking at it I think it would look amazing with the 2.4L bumper. Anyone wanna give it a try

But it looks cool! Remember duels on all F-bodies after 1974 were only for looks too. Worked well for them didn't it?

Im going for a similar thing...but with no mufflers.

I just want to cut out the 2nd exhaust section in my muffler, and run the Y pipe, with another stock 2.4L exhaust tip.

duals on a 4-banger just for looks = ricey. it's your money, and i wont like make fun of anyone that does it, but seriously think about this before you do it.

it's going to cost a few hundred bucks, no extra performance, extra weight, and it WILL sound like ass garunteed.

Dual outlets is not do-able realistically, you'd have to cut the floor pan where spare tire and battery sits. If you try and run the pipe before the spare tire you'll melt the evap canister/ lines and fuel lines. I've looked, the Razza (?) body kit has a single real outlet on the drivers side, the pass side fake outlet is bolted to a bracket thats bolted to the trunk floor.

Seems to me if you want the dual outlet look, use one of the single transverse mufflers with dual outlets (one on each side) for the Gen I Neon and adapt it to the Cobalt.

Hmmm, had duels on my Cavi and it looked great, sounded awesome too cause I had duel QUIET mufflers on and between the 2 they could out flow ONE loud one. So quiet, high flow, good looks, YUP I'll take that any day of the week over the loud fart style mufflers or the straight thru style ones that sound like suck ass.

Same performance as the loud stuff but with none of the noise=win, win IMO.

I agree - I think duals can look nice. It's all a matter of taste and how you decide to do it. Honeslty I think straighter, slanted tip coming out of duals will look much less ricey than even the stock pipe.
I also agree that a single muffler to dual pipes is the way to go - will probably save on weight and is definitely a lot less under the car work.
Just give this stuff time and it will come out on it's on. Same as what someone was saying about installing CAI/MAF. If you're really interested you may want to email the folks over a trubendz.com - they may already have some workable options, or at least be able to point you in the right direction.

why would you want to put duals on any of our cars? Unless you have the Razzi lip kit there's only one hole for an exhaust pipe.

I guess some people just like the look of duals? I think it could look okay if done tastefully - could certainly mean up the rear of the car.
With that said- though I do honeslty dislike cars that "have more pipes than they need."
Really ticks me off about Accords and Fusions, they come with them stock. A 3.0Lish V6 does not under any circumstance need more than one pipe..
It could be worse - he could have a picture of a Hummer's air intake snorkel system
