An assortment of short throw shifters are available. To be extact, try turbotechracing.com or gravanatuning.com, modernperformance.com is good also. Choose your type of car and model. The shifters I believe are universal to every applications from coupe to sedan.

Try to stay away from B&M unless you change the shift knob (feels cheap). The hurst shifter is nice from what I heard but is not available for quite some time. Hope this answers your questions

Hurst is for the 2.0 Tranny only and is supposed to be out later this month/early next month. Same with B&M, but I don't know if there's some way to make it work by bypassing the reverse lockout part or not. TWM is the only one for sure that makes one for the 2.2/2.4 Cobalts.

I'd be interested if you got this to work alright. If so, where did you buy it and how much? Let us know when you get it in!

Here's the same B&M shifter at RK Sport, notice it says "WILL ONLY FIT SS MODELS" (they only have for 2005 model year, so it's SS/SC only) even though it shows up when you search for 2.2L. And also at TurboTech

The only 2.2/2.4 specific short throw is the TWM for now.

I own a '06 SS 2.4 sedan.
I purchased a short throw from a company on EBay email AR2inc@gmail.com. Price was $65.00 & $10.00 shipping. It was great quality and easy enough to install, (about an hour) REDUCED THROW APPROX 40-50%!!!! Email me with questions if you like.

Well I finally have a day off of work tomorrow, but first thing in the morning I'm gonna get my Sportlines installed. They said they should be done by mid-afternoon so after that I'm gonna put in the short shifter.

Just remember when buying parts for our 2.4 that we have the same suspension as the S/C but the same transmission as the base cobalts.
