Go race and report back. I hate to bring up magazines......but Car and Driver got a 15.1 for an auto V6 'Stang. Now maybe that was an anomally.......or not. Still you have a better hp/weight ratio

 

i've seen 2.2 cobalts(auto), and cavs(auto) take out v6 stangs.. you shouldnt have a problem.

 

i think you you can take it. he has a 01 2.2 cavalier whit a catback injen intake and eibac springs and he beat the 02 v6 stang easy

 

Be careful, the 06 V6 stang got a 4.0L V6 with 210HP.

 

well it will probably happen but im not sure when.. maybe sometime this week, her dad told me that he would be driving it lol, i have about a 600lb advantage if that helps at all. not sure how much weight actually plays into it

 

It's like every 100lbs is supposed to equal a tenth in the quarter mile. Something like that but I could be wrong.

Definately post results... I'm betting that you'll smoke it. the 4.0 is a decent engine... but after that thing gets out of 1st gear it should be all over. Cobalt has a definate weight advantage. Take out your spare tire and drop your tire pressure by 5PSI or so... should get you a small advantage.

 

They're fairly heavy so i'd say you should take it.

So... are you actually gonna run this race? I see a lot of people here talkin "I'm gonna run my friend/neighbor/co-worker in his whatever." Then I never see any results...

 

i Raced and 02 celica gts last night. We did an 20 roll on an highwayup to about 110 and he pulled me by about 4 or 5 cars. I was like wtf! It was an sad day for cobalts because i lost. I knew something was up when we were in an parking lot and he called me out. He said it was all stock untill we raced. Then i found out it had an 50 shot of zex on it. When i get my header and ecu tune and my 75 shot im gonna go hunting for that bastard and show him whats up.

 

Just don't be a fool and blow your engine with that boost.

 

Im gonna get zex its supposed to be the safest from what ive heard?? But i only want it so i can hang with the big dogs so i will only use it prolly once a week if that. If i think ill use it more than that ill prolly just go with an 50 shot.

yea i did a gts lastnite, 1-2 he was at abotu my door with me pulling away, and then when i hit 3rd he pulled slowly away, i also had 2 friends with me and that was about 300 extra pounds and he had no one i lost

 

don't race with friends! I get a nice shove back when I redline 2nd and shift into third. Hard to imagine some low reving V6 gaining on the top end but oh well. Ditch the people and go again!

 

yea i know man, it was hard for me to say no when they asked if they could come, 1 other person i really don't feel much of a difference, but when i have someone in the back seat, i can tell that im slower, maybe im wrong but thats what it feels like but i love goin out and drivin around everyone looks its great!
