You know I wish Hahn would release a stage one kit with out an intercooler for around $3,200 so it is easier to get into the FI world. And then later on add in the intercooler. to make the Stage 2 kit.

This kit has not even been proven with the Ion's OS, I have sent Hahn a copy of a stock Ion tune to compare to the cobalt. But Bill wants an Ion in the shop to test it on. And Orlando is a nice drive form Il.

Why would I do that, he already has my stock tune. No more information will come from that. Anyways in the next month or so I am going to by the HPT cable for my self instead of sharing with someone. So the turbo will have to wait for me. I would just like to see more option's and choice's in time.

Stage 1? Just buy the Stage 2 kit and take a Sawz-All to various parts of your engine until you've reached the -30 whp you are looking for.

I don’t think you quite understand what I mean, I am saying building the kit in stages, instead of dropping $4,000.00+ in one setting. Having an option to buy a not intercooled kit running less boost to get you around 200 WHP. While you can either stay like this or the option of upgrading to the stage 2 kit. It is the same concept of upgrading to the stage 3 and 4 kits. So next time you would like to contribute to this thread, please think before you post something like that again.

I understand what you are saying.

My question is why would you want to do an upgrade that would cost more than full bult-ons, cams, plus a tune and net you very similar results.. if you can get the tuning down.

And I believe there ARE stage 1 equivalent kits on the market, for the 2.2 atleast, the tuning would still be an issue.

I think the reason people are looking more at a Stage 2 style kit is that at least that way all the coolant plumbing will be run.. that and it's more cost effective -- $3200 for 50 whp or $4000 for 100.
