2 step on auto
you could run a trans brake. i don't know of anyone who makes one for the 4t45 though. but its better than just a higher converter.
a trans bake is a solenoid operated valve in the trans valve body. It essentially locks the trans in foward and reverse at the same time until the actuating button is released. puts quite a shock on the internals but its instant engagement of foward gears. the main purpose of a trans brake is so that a driver can mat the gas at the line with the transbrake engaged, and the car will not move. When the button is released the car is already wide open and it will instantly go. No waiting for the throttle to open, timing to advance, etc...it just goes. Also, they're more consistent than just footbraking on a stall
you can use it in conjunction with a stall though for a higher launch. but i'd also look in to getting stronger axles as well
oh. but to answer your question. no you can't really use a 2step on an auto. because it reads off the lower clutch switch, which you don't have.

using the brake pedal has nothing to do with a trans brake. it's not used. no matter if the brake pedal is mashed or not. the trans will be under the same load from the trans brake
oh okay i see what you're saying.
well in that case then i would say use a line lock in the rear then. run the trans brake and the line lock off the same button so they release at the same time. thats how clutch cars used to launch before ignition cuts. they didn't use it to load up the car but they used it to keep the car from rolling on an uneven surface so it didn't effect their reaction times.

i would prefer a line lock just because hand foot coordination sucks worse than hand eye. you'd have to release your foot and the button at the EXACT same millisecond or you can forget about making a good pass. with the line lock you can run them off one button and release at the same time
exactly. Also for OP,Company called IPT specializes in GM performance transmissions. You can look there too and I'm pretty sure they could do a trans brake, build, and torque converter on it.Tundraboarder666 is running a 4t45E built by IPT,on stock converter but with a LSD.You can prolly message him for more info
The line lock is just for Trans brake purposes to hold the car in place as you brought it up on the converter and brake since no one makes a strong enough clutch to hold the car in place on the brake alone,so the rear lock would be to assist the trans beake.I can't believe I didnt think of that,Exsoccer your a fkn genius lol
