4T45e Trans questions
4T45e Trans questions
So this is what I curious about:
I know that the Pontiac G6 GT uses the same 4T45e automatic transmission as the cobalt 2.4.
The GT was equipped with a autostick/triptronic feature. I am curious if the gear selector from a G6 can be re-engineered to work with my cobalts auto trans. What I am not sure of if there are any variations between the cobalts and G6's 4t45's. If someone is competent in these transmissions your feedback would be greatly appreciated. I know a while back somebody asked about this I believe and they were provided with the wiring diagram for the triptronic shifting functions. I can recreate said harness fairly easy. I know that the g6's gear selector will not simply bolt into the cobalts console, but I can redesign it a bit to accomodate. Also will the TCM have to be replaced or are those triptronic functions preprogrammed into the module already? I'm not looking for hate I'm just being an engineer and tinkering as usual. Also, I dont really want to hear "trade your car in for a manual" that is not an option. All in all what I am asking is this plausible or is this just rubbish that is next to impossible?

Yeah I currently use L and I alot when I want to be in an appropriate rpm range. Correct me if I'm wrong but Low consists of 1st and 2nd gear revving out to 6800 rpms before shifting. I consists of 1-3rd gear shifting at about 4000 rpms with added shift pressure compared to that of Drive.
"L" is 1st and 2nd. It shifts 1st early (not redline). Runs 2nd to redline and will bounce limiter. Added line pressure.
"I" is 1st-3rd. Shifts 1st normal, 2nd at 4k if partial throttle, runs 3rd to redline and will bounce limiter (but thats 120ish mph). Added line pressure.
