About Time
So I feel the need to throw this out there.. I replaced my thermostat the same day that I went to HPT, a few hours earlier... I drained my coolant when I disconnected the radiator hose from the thermostat housing.. Anyway to make a long story short.... I had no coolant in my car, and I just put a little less than a gallon in.

could you say this again in a better written way? lol. I'm not following this sentence too well
Iv never seen so many excuses before in my life, look u ran good times better then what most aaid u would but ur not gonna pick up another .25 in the 1/4 mile by dusting ur tires off and picking the rocks out of the tread. Stop crying like a girl already.

Yeah I beat on it, but I didn't know I didn't even have a drop of coolant, I thought there was just air. So I didn't help the situation. I just added a full gallon of 50/50 last night. Slowbalt was thirsty

without going back and looking again, it seems like you ran your best times when the engine was warm. Looked to me like leaving @ 170ish was the best, soooo.....
that's what a car wants anyway-- warm engine, warm oil, cold air, cold fuel.

Funny stuff lol
Didn't say I was going to take .25 solely by cleaning my tires. I gave a list that Would've given me a better shot
Add header, downpipe, and tb. That will give you another shot. The stuff you listed isn't going to make a big difference.
Accept what you ran and move on.

rocks in your tires wont make a darn bit of difference
If it was really an issue you would be spinning through gears due to this massive amounts of rocks impeding your traction (which doesnt seem the case, you dont have enough power for that.. no offense). And if you were spinning money bets the rocks would fly right out of the tread anyways

Just manual swap the thing and call it a day.
Toss some slicks on and go cut 1.7-1.8 60 foots.
The lower 60's and the better gearing, you should be able to crack off a mid 14.
Ditch some weight/add some suspension mods and do a few more bolt on's and you can easily run a high 13.
Its not rocket science, dispite what people think you don't need 300whp to run a 13.
Hell my car doesn't even make 200whp and it runs LOW 13's. (mind you its about 400lbs less than a Cobalt).

I've been looking into a manual swap. I've got a family friend that would do it pretty cheap.
I already am tuned with Trifecta. It's an automatic so it shifts based on the tune, which changed the shift points to about red line. And I didn't look at my tach when I crossed, but seeing as I finished at about 90mph, that would tell me I crossed around 5600 rpm, because it shifts again at 120.

I don't have the money to trade in for an lsj/lnf.. I got the car for $5,000 as my first car a year and a half ago, from a family friend's salvage yard. rear end damage. I doubt I could get a lot more than $3,000 for it. I can do a manual transmission swap for about $1,000-$1,200 including the transmission. I swapped my 109k '06 2.4 engine for a 60k '08 2.4. The body of the car is nearly identical to how it looked when I got it.. 20 footer.... at night [:
Vince from Trifecta did it, I went through a dealer for $250. I don't know too much about my peak tq/hp because I haven't dynoed.
