All Motor?
Just curious what yall think. If the 2.4 was fixed with every after market performance part for the motor and tranny what kind of HP gains you think it will get and what would the 1/4 mile times probably be??? I think it could get up to 240hp possibly not sure though
I'm sorry, but that is a pretty broad question. Anything is possible unless you specify some restrictions...aside from "all motor." I'm assuming you mean no type of forced induction (supercharger, turbocharger). If you are going to post questions like this, it is an absolute must that you are specific enough for other members to answer your questions. You can't come up and start a new thread about "how fast can my car go..." "how much hp can i get...". Anything is possible. You can ask questions like "what hp range are my push rods rated for so I don't break them" On top of that, please use the ever so neglected search button to find similar quetions by other members and surely you will get some insight.
Basically, you could spend $15,000+ on an all motor rece engine that it tuned to the max, and still get beat by a $2000.00 cheap ass turbo kit on a stock motor running 6 Psi.
The N/A world sees turbo and supercharger as cheating or taking the easy way out... Well, YOU ARE THE ONE PAYING so make your own conclusions.
Personally, **** N/A. Boost is Cheaper, Easier and comes as a KIT.

And my cousin races his camaro's in bracket racing and has been doing it for over 30 years. He has build some motors in excess of 1000hp with no nitrous, supercharger, or turbocharger. Granted it is easier and cheaper (usually, and assuming you know what you are doing) to use forced induction.
Up the boost to 8...
Hey it's Instant Bolt On HP. I agree that there is an exception to every rule in life, just pointing out that the Cost to HP of N/A is about 400% higher than cost to HP of FI.
Basically, we are talking about a Cobalt SS 2.4...
GM has alreadt done it's thing on the engine with VVT and some interesting selection of compression ratio. We can call it far from perfect, but close to TUNED.
So Port the head, Extrudehone the intake and EX manifold, **** with the timing and Pire on a slick CAI...
Cha Ching..
