I used to have the GMPP intake...not bad, a bit pricey thought...I'd rather have a CAI... more noise

Compared to my Injen, the avarage IAT bettween the Injen and K&n was pretty drastic. I was loging some high temps coming through the K&N. To me it's just another short ram.

In order of how I modded my car:

AEM CAI
TWM short throw shifter
DC Sports front strut bar
Ingalls ETD
Eibach Sportlines
CA header + XTC 2.5" de-cat downpipe + ARK N2 cat-back

I say a full exhaust, springs + strut bar, intake and a shifter are the best first few mods to start opening up the potential of our cars. After that, I did:

Powerslot slotted rotors front/rear
Hawk HPS pads front/rear
19"x8" Axis Mods w/ 225/35/19 Nankang NS-II rubber

And for a few cosmetic touches I put on an ARK short antenna and VHT nightshaded tailights. Next up im gonna complete my suspension with a rear sway bar and tranny mount bushings, then add some window tint, install my 32lbers and have it HP Tuned, and call it a day.

What I meant was that when you said the K&N was the only one designed for our cars, GM makes one designed for them as well.

As for the rest, header, catback, springs and the like are all perfectly fine.
Wow, it turns out that bad? I've had the injectors sitting at home for quite some time, and I was planning on taking it up to PA to have it HP Tuned on a dyno by one of GTP's reputable HP Tuner's friends. Should I really stray away from it? Should I go with the Vector tune instead?

yeah, the K&N or Rebel Autoworx are def the best b/c they are the only two intakes truely designed for our cars alone. The only reason I keep my AEM 2.2 CAI on my 2.4 is b/c I love the K&N, but the K&N won't fit with my Ingalls ETD, which I dont wanna take off. That, and the Rebel Autoworx is too expensive for me, especially considering i'd be replacing a part I already have on my car.

This is the great Urban Tale of the Cobalt forums..... I've yet to find a single report of a MAF messed up by a K&N Typhoon SRI! At any rate, as a K&N user, I've had NO CELs on my 2007 2.4L VVT LE5...

i got the gmpp intake and performance exhaust on my 2.4. id say thats a decent start. can install both yourself if you want and though they are a little more expensive, you can keep that warranty going.

ive done a little comparision to the Injen CAI and the KN SRI, me and my buddy both have 2.4L cobalts 5 speed, he has Injen i got KN...every single time i would pull just slighty faster then him..we switched cars and same thing happened my car would pull a little more..in my opnion ive seen the facts and it proves KN produces more HP..NOW thats not to say under extreme hot condition my KN is gonna suck more HOT air in making it worse then a CAI..but here in winnipeg manitoba..its mostly cold outside..thus making my sri better

I actually just bought the K&N Typhoon SRI yesterday. It's a very nice, clean install. The sound it makes is incredible, lol! I didn't think it would make that much of a difference in sound.

Your intake sound won't matter once you get a full exhaust. I can't even hear my intake anymore, lol.

I used to own an heavily modified '85 Mustang GT 5.0L before I bought the G5 GT.......so I'm not too interested in aftermarket exhausts on 4 cylinders, lol Nothing can compare to how my Mustang used to sound.

Haha I love my 4-cyl grunt. I've never been a fan of how Mustangs sound, but that's largely b/c of where I live.......everyone has modded Mustangs out here and I get tired of the "gurgling water" sound. My first car was an '88 RX-7, and it had a full Apex-i exhaust (w/ the GT Spec cat-back), and my SS will never live up to the way that car sounded.

i have to disagree on that one. wickedss has tuned cobaltssth (tyler) 2.4 and it runs amazing. hes got an exhaust and intake i believe as well as an injector swap and tune and it runs awesome.

Thats cool I'm glad it all worked for him, but from my personial experences with having a tune from Psyko Steve that did not work, a tune from Doc which did not work, and my car to PSI performance three times and that did not work to the extent that my car had to be towed to the dealer to be fixed, and lastly Ron gave up before he ever laid hands on my car after seeing the copies of the tunes and data logs I'm sure you can see why I say what I do about not doing it unless you take it to a company that KNOWS what its doing such as TUNE TIME to get the car tuned. And TUNE TIME told me that their is NO NEED for the 2.4 to get the 2.0 injectors UNLESS its boosted as wel. The stock 2.4 injectors supply plenty of fuel when the car is tuned PROPERLY.

I'm not hating here man its just I had waaaaaay too many problems to recomend this mod.

Hmm....I def can't be having that much trouble w/ my car, as its my only car/daily driver. Luckily, I'm moving into my co-worker's apartment, so ill be able to have a little bit of downtime. But not enough to have my car re-tuned 5 times, lol. I've been considering Vector all along too, but thing is, I have like 11 codes thrown (2.2 intake on a 2.4 & no cat = lots 'o codes), and I don't know if Vectors tune can clear all of them. Anyone with the Vector tune.....any insight?

I have the 2.2 AEM CAI and no codes at all from it...

...catless should be able to be cleared up by vector...just tell them to disable the 2nd o2 sensor when you order it...

Yeah man, thats kinda bad, they tuned so terrible. We got a guy over at RME who does the tuning, and he has zero problems. And yes, there is ZERO NEED for larger injectors unless your turbo'd or supercharged. So many people think the injector swap some how gives you more power lol umm no.

Didn't your mom make you give your car to your girlfriend or something too?
