CA Header

So I installed the header and I have a real bad exaust leak either at the head or the collector. I thought it was the bolt on exaust but I welded up all the flanges and still have the leak. Has anybody had this problem and is there a good gasket kit out there that I can get to solve this problem. By the way all the bolts are tight if you were wondering...

If you don't mind my asking, how do you know you have an exhaust leak?

i have the CA header the shorty one from cobalt-addiction and my friend noticed some kind of an airflow type noise coming from around the center by my head unit almost. Im not sure if thats a leak or just how the exhaust is. but i had mine put on professionaly, i dont touch anything that way i cant mess it up lol.

maybe its just the sound of the exhaust flow. I cant really tell ya lol im not a mechanic lol. But i feel the gain from it so i think its fine. The 2.4L is weird what can i say lol. i have a G5 GT and i had to give the header a couple wacks on one of the pipes so that it would go around the medal coolent hose.

Ever think of maybe rerouting the METAL coolant pipe to not hit the header? mine did the same. All I did was cut the pipe and run my own piece of hose over to the heater box. Giving your header a few whacks with anything to make it fit around something isn't the most intelligent idea. Not to mention they make all the primaries the same size for a reason. After you bash one in it isn't going to have the same flow.

it doest do anything trust me. I already asked a mechanic and it wont disrupt the flow. And with my car im not voiding the warranty by cutting the coolent line. And it cant be shifted the other way either. The G5 is a little different from the cobalt. But it works great so im not worried about it.

Your mechanic is a ******* if he thinks that a dent in the header won't disrupt flow. Not to mention it'll create a nice hot spot on the header.

You won't void your warranty. If you're that worried about warranty you shouldn't be turboing your car. G5 isn't that much different. We had to cut Matt's line instead of denting his $700 header.

Umm turbo kit mean anything to you? Last time I checked that voids warranties. Also I think that if someone did manage to pick up on the fact that a coolant pipe was cut they'd give you more problems about you're header next to it, exhaust, and the "just for show" nitrous kit. And please show me how once you pop the hood our cars are different? Also can you please post something without saying this person told me or my mechanic said this. I could look around online and tell you 100 different things I read. That doesn't make them right.

apparently you didt listen well in school when the teacher said online sources are not very good sources lol. My girls dad does work on cars to and i even asked the engine forman at my work that works on his own cars and they both told me its fine as well. People have been doin it for a long time and its fine. Besides it wont matter anyways ill have a new manifold that comes with the turbo. And the only way a tubo will void the warranty is if they can prove that the turbo is what cause the damage. If it was and you went with all the factory hahn settings that they told you to use then you can just go after hahn since just about every product has a warrenty to it.

I know the rules on warranty and if you take it in with a turbo kit, GM will not warranty any engine components. On top of that, Hahn Racecraft, no where on their site says they will warranty your motor. They may stand against the products they sell, but not your motor.

A dent in the cat back or downpipe wouldn't effect as much as a primary. That's where velocity is gained and so is back pressure creating a scavenging effect. If there's a dent the velocity changes. This can also effect how well the exhaust works at scavenging.

Your mechanics don't seem to smart. Let's see how long your car holds up. Ughh.

once the turbo is in it wont matter because there will be a new header on it place of that one in order to install the turbo. As for the warranty it doest really matter to much anyways lol i work at napa ill just getthe part half off anyways and if its a dealer part i get a discount from them too.
