CEL from intake??
Just installed a Fujita CAI today, and after driving for a short period of time the CEL came on. How do I get rid of the CEL? could it be that i put the MAF on facing the wrong way? or does it not matter? I know that the 2.2 throws a CEL with the aftermarket intake because of the SAI, but havn't heard anything about the 2.4 doing the same. Can anyone help me out? any info would be much appreciated.

should of disconnected negative terminal of battery before installation and no cel would of came up not sure if it will make a difference now, i was informed to disconnect negative terminal before installation and i did so and have not had any problems try it now it may help
it's because the sensors are getting more air than what it's programmed for. double check to make sure that everything is tight and there's no leaks. it's probably the p0071 which plenty of people get. as long as it's installed properly, there's no leaks, and it's driving the same as it was, it's safe to delete the code and forget about it. you can try disconnecting the negative side of the battery for a few minutes, that should clear it if you don't have a scanner. it may or may not come back.
which way should the MAF face? silver side forward? or black side? I disconnected the battery and it went away, but i haven't driven yet so i'm not sure if it'll come back. thanks for the quick replies already lol..i posted 5 min ago and check back and already three

I just took a look at the MAF again and i noticed that there is a small arrow on it. i had it on correctly already so it's probably not that. After i disconnected the battery the CEL came back again ...I mean the car runs fine. I havent noticed it doing anything strange. It's just that the CEL bugs the hell out of me every time i look down at the gauges.
I guess i'll just have to take it somewhere to get it scanned and have the code erased.

yea I might just get a code reader myself. Yea i believe it uses an oiled filter. i was planning on switching to an aem dry flow filter or a steel mesh one because of the problems with an oiled filter. but yea..that's the thing i hate about newer cars..they're so sensitive to everything. thanks for the input guys. much appreciated
