You've got to be careful if you're clutch wasn't broken in aggressively, it just may not be prepared for hard driving.
My dad always tought me to break in a car how you want to drive it..
Outside of that you shouldn't need to burn up the clutch to get it on this car, it doesn't take very well to 'speed shifting' - so try to stay away from that, most of your power is towards the top anyhow so speed shifting isn't going to benefit you nearly as much as draining each gear for all its worth.
Edit - To paraphrase, at least I've found, that the VVT is torquey little bitch - so you want to use your previous gear to get you as high on the tach for your next gear as possible. If you try to give it too much while you still have the clutch engaged it won't like you very much.

yah i agree with what you said. You have to break it in, in terms of how you wanna drive it. Start taking off at higher RPM's and if you still are getting the burnng smell take it in to your dealer. I had a 05 stang and it did the same thing, when i got it it was near the end of the summer and i needed to break it in still. Well by the end of winter/begining of srping i started mashing it some more and it acted the same way.

i'm going to try what I read in the sticky post in the drivetrain board and if that doesn't work i'll just buy a new clutch...it's not that much money and then that way if i ever go f/i i'll have that part covered lol.
thanks for the info everyone.

I'm thinking of buying a Stage 2ish clutch as well. For some reason ever since I got it back from the dealer to get my headlights fixed the thing has been an absolute rocket (guessing maybe my fuse box problems were causing the pcm to malfunction a bit? idk), and I know I'll **** a clutch before long once I start getting into mods this spring.
