zzp i know has the option for an auto downpipe, that about it though i think. the only thing with zzp is that ive heard quite a bit that the flex pipe on it breaks, however they do recommend better motor mounts so that doesnt happen.

I know zap has one as an option, and I believe I've seen clear image has one for the 2.4 as well

Vibrant Header/DP is great for the 2.4 if you plan on boosting in the future. I do feel that with my set up that the primaries are a tad too large for an NA motor. But, with it being tuned I do have aggressive top end power. It's a lot of fun playing with these cars. Especially when an automatic LE5 can keep up with a stock LSJ.

PLEASE NOTE: The Vibrant set up RUBS on the Automatic UNLESS you have a solid upper mount!!!!

I have been in the market for a DP / Header combo as well. Not to great with cars as well, but I never knew there was a difference between the mauntal and auto DPs

Incorrect.

its simply due to the fact the auto cars have the engine clocked forward towards the radiator and core support due to the transmission mounting. The cars make the same amount of power. though the autos are a bit less efficent. But the clocking makes the autos downpipes slightly longer with a slightly different angle.

thank you, so when I go to look for one, I need to find a longer one or see if they have one made for an auto tranny.

Ive read that some of the manual style pipes will fit anyway. When I had my zzp 3 inch downpipe on the flex pipe rubbed on the swaybar. Now the actual length did cause the catback to be pulled inwards more. (my exhaust tip was almost behind the rear bumper).

Now without the rubbing i probably wouldnt of cared as it didnt really look like it wasnt meant to be that way (the length difference isnt much).

ZZP I know for a fact has auto and manual downpipes and theyve honestly treated me very well.

i have looked on the ZZP site a few times, but I haven't had a chance to contact them...as of late. I will have to shoot them and email n see what they can do for me.

Go select the downpipe you want. Theres drop down bars and one of those is for the auto or manual.

with how the engine sits it kinda pulls the downpipe and back foward i simply between the downpipe and catback i had a local fab shop make something for me, basically same shape and size of the gasket just much thicker that would "push" the catback back in normal position. used some copper tube sealant to prevent leaks works.. i used a ZZP 2.5 DP w/magnaflow cat i bought off here for much cheaper. this allowed me to buy a manuals DP instead of an auto...too much work maybe but it works...

3 inch is too big for a 2.4 na auto... especially with no cat. Would kill off a good bit of lowend tq. And honestly it would be loud and raspy. 2.5" is more than enough and honestly running no cat just isnt worth the 2-3hp you MIGHT gain. Just run a 2.5" catted downpipe with a 2.5" catback.

Our auto downpipes are 1.5" longer. The manual ones work in an auto but you have to pulle and contort the catback.

Our flex issue was years ago and only on one run. We have a 2 year warranty on that portion of the pipes.

Go with the 2.5", a 3" will lose all your torque on a non-boosted 2.4L
