Drove in L gear today.. wow
During my boring afternoon i decided to merge onto the highway in the L gear.. i just have to say WOW it puts you right on the powerband, the car is sooooo responsive.. it totally felt like a different car... i shifted the auto to D while driving, i know its bad but i had to do it before i killed someone lol.. I tried it again at a red light and floored it, the car sounded like it was going to take off.. i must say, i really like driving without the traction control on, i really wish we had a t/c on/off button like it ions.. so for those of you, who havent tried driving in L gear yet, go do it
just once... just be careful.

thats how i usualy drag race.
torque brake it in L. it shifts the 1 time. 2 gears, approximately 60mph, and it maxes, then i switch to I.
So i pull up, throw it in L, go...it shifts.....goes up again, i throw it into I.

I always do that at the strip... or when I need to get out in traffic fast... otherwise the ECU will detect tire spin and kill the gas.
Lemme tell ya'... it sucks when you get just enough gas to get out into the first lane of cross traffic... then the ECU kills it for a second... ya' really begin to wonder.

hope someone comes out with a switch or something to turn off TC while in D. Also I love L gear also especially when it goes into 2nd on some roads the tires start to spin again
i dont know if its the same with the cobalts but in the cavaliers to turn the TC off just click the E-break up 1 click and it will turn it off and in my sunfire i have a switch on the side of the dimer switch to turn my TC off. i keep it on most the time but going up hills i turn it off.

i dont know why gm didnt put one in the cobalt/cavy i got my sunfire from a chevy dealer and they said pontaic is the nicer version so it has more options. maybe the G5 will have the switch to turn it off. i no my moms malibu you can turn it off to so chevy puts it in some of there cars.
WOW glad I read this thread..got some playing to do with the 2.4 now..
the other day I thought my car was a dud at just over 1000km's I pulled hard into traffic and then nothing for a second then it did it again..i look down ok over half a tank of gas left..now WTF.
thanks for the info as always

About the T/C.
My truck had a T/C on/off switch, but thats only because I had the G80 Locking Differential in my Crew Cab. Had way too much fun with the T/C off in the snow!
So I've had my experience with T/C's and what not. It does suck for you guys with an auto that you can't turn that off. Hell, in my dad's 98 Concorde LXi, he has a switch for T/C. Stupid Chevy for not putting stuff like that in. BTW, my truck was an 04.
Hopefully somebody comes out with something for you guys.
