I don't know if this is news to anyone here but the 2.4 will be available in the coupe and sedan.

2005 & 2006 Ordering Info.

2005 Cobalt Buildout Information & Final Buildout Date, 2006 Startup Date

2005 Model Year Cobalt Final Production Date

Dealers will be able to consense (agree to accept allocations) for their buildout 2005 Cobalts in early May, 2005.

Allocations available during the May consensus will be available for production June 6 thru June 17, 2005.

The final date of 2005 production is June 17, 2005.

Dealers will be able to view their final, actual allocations on May 18, 2005.

Dealers will see their first allocations (if they have them available) within which they can approve orders on May 19, 2005.

2006 Model Year Cobalt Startup Production Date

Dealers will be able to consense (agree to accept allocations) for 2006 Cobalts in May, 2005.

Dealers will be able to view their final, actual allocations on June 16, 2005.

Dealers will see their first allocations (if they have them available) within which they can approve orders on June 16, 2005.

Allocations available during the May consensus will be available for production July 25 thru July 31, 2005

I was trying to post my e-mail i sent but site won't let me activate, so i'll post it here. I asked how much horse and if the cobalt would have a manual or automatic and this is what they said. 205hp. and a 5spd. manual, released july 2005 in sedan and coupe.

Well this Miko dude is just full of crap, and that is sad for a person with his job description. The 2.4L SS (coupe and sedan) will be 172 hp and will be man. and auto trans!

i still dont see any info on chevy's site about the SS model. I would like to see what the production one has to offer, as far as whats standard and what options it has.

I don't think he is an idiot. He probably just mis-read the question and replied appropriately. He probably receives dozens of questions on the SS-Supercharged and just figured it was another question about that, I'm sure there are not many questions on the NON-Supercharged version.

Just chalk it up as a mistake for the individual, I'm sure he knows what he is talking about.

EDIT: Actually he seems very confused. He states production will start in July, but they're already on the lots. Maybe he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. Haha

Plus he said they will be in coupe AND sedan. Not the supercharged 205 HP ones.

So this means that their will be a cobalt ss sedan and coupe with a 2.4 Liter engine and a Cobalt ss supercharged coupe with a 2.0 Supercharged? I was just wondering because i was confused about it..
