exhaust

How much power gain would you actually get with say a new exhaust with a high flow cat and a cold air intake?? Would it be noticeable or a waste of money? I seen plenty of people get these mods on other cars and the difference was barely noticable.

I've seen one full exhaust system say it'll give about 12hp, CAI is good for about 10hp probably not sure.

on a NA car... your car is 172 at the crank stock...lets say 155hp at the wheels. With Intake and Exhaust may guess would be around 165hp to the wheel... so like 10-15hp gain throw in a good header you will prob see about 6-8 more HP to the wheels.

I feel a difference with the CAI not alot with just the Borla muffler maybe when I put 2.5 piping and hi-flow cat back I'll notice some more.

Do you think its worth getting the whole exhaust kit all at once or you think you can get away with just certain sections? I would think a low restricted cat would prolly show ya best results i mean a tip is justt a tip. What about a 3 inch exhaust or do you think that is over kill?

Is there any way to get the car to quiet down like not sound so much like a bumble bee yet still not lsoe the performance? I sorta like riding under the radar and the sounds a dead give away. (or for some a mockery).

3" is overkill for a NA 4cyl motor... go 2 1/2 or 2.5" with a hi-flow chambered muffler like Borla or Flowmaster then it won't be as loud as a straight thru design like Magnaflow.

Do it all at once. Have a shop weld everything. Much better in the long run. And if you want it quiet just get a nice size resonator and that should do the trick

I know a shop that will bend and weld me anything i want so if and when it comes time for that i dont think ill have any worries there. Thats why i asked about the 3 inch pipe so would it really hurt me to go with the 3 inch?

yes it will, not enough exhaust velocity. Go with the 2.5 you'll be happy you still have your torque.

I would recommend the Corsa, they actually really work on each engine and the systems sound. That is why they offer 2 systems for EACH engine with the cobalts.
