Red face Exhaust noise

I hope someone can help me with this. On my way to work the other morning I got cut off by a rig, and i got pissed off and might have over reved while passing him lol. So now I have a buzzing noise while exelerating. I'm guessing its some kind of leak in the exhaust, maybe a crack or gasket leak. I'm gonna jack it up tonight and check the whole system. Any ideas?

you already answered it. jack it up and see where it's coming from. some seafoam will let you know in 10 seconds where the leak is, if you have one.

start at the flex, they seem to fall apart on the inside, then split on the outside

Mine did that...it was just the heat shield rattleing..so i bent it over a little where it was making the noise.

Hammered on it and now you have a buzzing noise?

Something in the exhaust (dp likely) flexed and cracked, or flexed enough that there is a heat shield touching where it shouldn't.

My $0.02

ok say if it was the DP. I would have to replace the whole DP or just the part that flex by cutting and welding it back on. Either way I'm thinking I need to replace the whole DP.

What are my options?

I know that theres cat is on the DP so I'm not sure what I would have to do here.
I'm also thinking of getting an aftermarket DP, but those don't come with the cat do they?

they usually have an option for it, some will come with ceramic high flow while others have metal core high flow.

Actually man i really wouldn't use seafoam for the exhaust leak its really kinda pointless!? more than likely its the fles pipe thats connected to the header! They swell when they warm up and the torque from the motor coming back will actually make the pipe itself break!! Hit me up if you need any help!

Also man im sorry i didn't see you were thinkin about fixing the dp im pretty sure u can buy just the fles but from gm its gonna be a pretty penny i believe its like a 100 bux! ud prolly be better off tryin to find one on here or search a junk yard.

How is the zzp? does it change the exhaust tone very much? If I do get an aftermarket dp I dont want it to drown out the sound of my intake. Also, is it possible to get an aftermarket dp that will mate to my stock exhaust system?
