Exhaust question...

Ok in all honesty I dont even know why im considering this...

But I had read our exhaust is already 2.5" so I had thought about just buying the cti 2.5 over the axle pipe for universal mufflers from ottp and using a muffler a local is selling (tanabe).

What ive always wanted on the car is the SLP loudmouth but im considering the other route if its like 200 cheaper than the slp and can provide similar gains.

What do you guys think?

Though if thats true it pretty much means flat out buy the catback.

IIRC our exhaust isn't really 2.5" its really like 2.3" or 2.4". There was a thread about it a long time ago but I don't remember the title. Anyways the main flow issues are in the cat (which is located in the downpipe), the piece that goes over the axle, and the muffler.

well i will be replacing the header and dp. but was debating if the cti over the axle pipe with a decent muffler would be as good as a true catback.

It would be still alot better than leaving it stock thats for sure. Right now i have a 4-1 mid length header and 2.5 inch downpipe/highflow cat. I 'm going to be going this lesser expensive route also as it will still produce some hp gains for you. Also consider this our exhaust on the ss/sc or 2.4 already flows preatty well and the most you gain from a catback on these cars is about 5-6 hp anyway.
