exhaust question

so here in a few days im having the exhaust shop just weld on a muffler i have at home just cause i hate stock exhaust. but my real question is whenevr i get a full exhaust next year should i have an exhaust shop just build me a catback setup with a generic muffler or buy a full 2.5" kit from a company and put it on myself? i have never purchased a full exhaust before but i have had the exhaust shop build me a couple for a few of my vehicles. whats the power advantage over buying one and building one?

Pipes are pipes, I have a ZZP exhaust but in reality its just a magnaflow muffer and resonator with metal pipes inbetween, I bought it to support a vendor

That's not true. The stock catback goes down to a 2-2.25 inch over axel. Get a cti 2.5 inch over axel welded in place of the stock over axel portion with a muffler and you essentially have a full catback. You should gain a couple horses, nothing huge
