Has anyone removed the resonator on the stock exhaust? And if so how does it sound? Will it make much difference at all? Sorry guys I know you are going to suggest just getting an after market setup but I don't have the funds at this point.

 

do you plan on replacing it with a pipe? idk it might sound alright.

dont do it.
resonators are your friend. they stop your exhaust from sounding like a civic with a fart can.
and AFAIK it will not give you any power to remove it, as its not really restricting the exhaust.

 

Yeah I planned on replacing it with a pipe. I have also been doing some reading on the net and I think an0malous is correct that it will just make the exhaust sound pretty crappy.

Removed mine when I installed a header and left the stock muffler. Sounds really good actually. Just a little louder than stock, but no fart can.
