Exhaust Set-up
I recently purchased a Magnaflow Street Series muffler for my 2.4 and had Midas install it. I am not sure that it is loud enough for my taste and not sure I even like how it looks. Let me know what you have and how you like it. Here is my muffler

It honestly doesn't look bad at all. If you want your muffler to sound louder just add a header and downpipe.

Thanks. I want to add a downpipe at some point and have been looking into the bad-mab header. Would it be completely stupid to remove the rubber hangers and fasten the hangers directly to each other (to raise the end of the muffler a bit)?

it doesnt look like it hangs too low. it looks really good. and if i were you, i would keep the rubber hangers on there. if you want to go back stock, or do a catback, or different custom system, it would be a bitch to deal with if they were welded.

Thanks. I was thinking of some type of fastener and I may go to a catback in the near future. My hangers that were welded directly to the muffler are starting to rust pretty bad. I am realizing how **** I can be because you can't even see the rust.

I would love to believe me but the money is just not there! I have been reading up on solutions and found that some people use small hose clamps to squeeze the hangers together while leaving the rubber gaskets in place, others even put the hose clamps over the rubber gaskets and tighten it to raise the muffler. I am probably going to try this this afternoon, I can't find anything wrong with it. Zip ties might melt or that would be the direction I go.

In case anyone is interested, I cleaned the muffler up real well and painted over the rust spots with some rust converting compound, then added the hose clamps over the rubber hangers, that did the trick, everything is tight and looks good. Still not as loud as I had hoped but a good look, plus I will most likely add the XTC catted downpipe someday. The neighbors will appreciate my purchase for its low sound level.

Well, this should go to show how dense I can be. My step dad and I stood by as my mom flew by in the car to hear it and it sounds badass, I just did not realize how well our cabin is insulated. I rolled around with my window down in this apocalypticly warm weather and have to say that I was out of line talking bad about this muffler. Good deal for the money for sure. And thanks, yeah I can't wait to keep going on the exhaust with the dp and header.

I plan to for sure, just have to decide on which site to start posting vids and pics to. Also, I was looking at the XTC DP and just wanted to ask, I don't need an extra 02 bung right? I am not going to install anything to control my air to fuel ratio. I just got a bit confused reading up on it.
