Cool Few Questions on Perfomance Mods

I am thinking about getting a cold air intake but cant seem to find many made for the 2.4, do you guys know if it has to be 2.4 or could you use a lower/ universal intake. Also i have been thinking about getting a new exhaust. Any suggestions on which way i shoud go, be it just a muffler, or the whole shebang. I also heard that if you have an intake, you need to have a better exhaust or it wont add any power. Inform me please if you guys could.

Thanks!!!

Check out www.cobalt-addiction.com under their performance listings. They have options for the 2.4 from AEM as well as their in house products the XTC intake.

First, any 2.2 intake will work on the 2.4. I have an Injen CAI. It gives a great performance boost with no other mods. After I added a Corsa touring cat-back, I noticed a small increase (about 1/2 of what the Injen CAI gave me - seat of the pants.) I am waiting for my XTC header and b-pipe to arrive. When it does, I'll give you the scoop.

I also have a Wester's ECM/TCM tune and love it! I needed to get the tune to notice the full effect of my e-rams. Before the tune the engine was leaning out at WOT, so they only produced about half the power that they do now (roughly the same as my Corsa cat-back.) After you finish all the mods you are planning I suggest you get a live dyno tune (or buy HP tuners) to realize the full potential of your mods.

This is the order I would proceed:

1. XTC header - because they are on a close-out deal for $199 from C/A
2. CAI - Do a search - there are several out there.
3. 2.5" XTC b-pipe w/cat - the stock b-pipe narrows down to 2" - most restrictive part of exhaust.
4. Cat-back exhaust (or just replace from the 2.25" restriction by the axle, back if on a budget) - many to choose from - search
5. Tune it for your mods

Alot of people on here have the GM catback and it rocks, the verdict is still out on the intake, your moey would be better spent on an injen intake its a full CAI and SR,check out Turbo tech racing it is like 220

I am in love with Injen. You can swap SRI and CAI for the winter or if your area gets a lot of rain.
