a few s/c questions

Hey guys,

So, I'm considering piecing together the M62 kit for my 2.4 over winter.. A few questions though first..

1) What kinda ballpark numbers do you think I'll be putting out with a basic M62 kit (no major modifications) with the addition of the GMPP catback, Stage pulley, s/c aftermarket intake, and a header/dp kit?

I already have the GMPP, and I already have an intake for my 2.4, but I will obviously need to swap it for the s/c version. I also had a header/dp combo on, but I will be getting another one if I do go through with this.. And for pulley size, something smaller for more power..

2) Should you install this yourself or pay someone to do it?

There's a guy around me (sorta) who installs these for like $500 and I'm pretty sure it includes a dyno tune with HPT. That's a really good deal.. Aside from that, my friend owns a garage with a lift, so we could likely do it in a weekend.. But there's no close tuners that I would want AAA towing the car to..

3) The ballper numbers for piecing together a complete kit still around 1,500-ish?

If I got the big stuff for Christmas, I could eliminate lke 1/2 or 2/3 of that cost by getting the big stuff, then just buying the small odds-n-ends over winter..

Thanks!!

Im guessing around 250 to 270 maybe more not sure, and you might be able to put it together yourself if you have a little smarts, but that number of 500 bucks with a tune and dyno time or whatever sounds very good to. honestly I would have that guy do it for 500, thats very cheap for tune and labor...

You can definately do the install yourself if you wanted too. There's plenty of how to's that will help you. You don't really need a lift, since all the work is being done on the top of the engine. As for hp numbers, I would say between 230-255 whp, depending on supporting mods and tune.
