My front end started shimmying at 1300 miles and I have not driven this car hard at all. Took it to the dealership and they turned the rotors and now it is fine. I also took some posts from here with me and the service manager read them and put them in my file, so the next time it does it, he is going to request the cross drilled and slotted rotors for replacement. He was amazed at how many vehicles and the mileage that the rotors were warping at. He knows me well and knows that I baby my cars and that this is a legitimate problem on GM vehicles.

I'm at 49 500KM, I have had the front rotors machined, then replaced, then machined on the second set. I have had the rear rotors machined, then replaced, then machined again.

The Shakes always come back! We need a group buy on brake rotors.....and quick!

Many thanks! I did some searches and didn't have any luck.

Yesterday I confirmed that the SS 2.0 and 2.4 have the same front rotors and pads, so anything listed for the 2.0 in brakes will work for us. I was fairly certain I had read this but wanted to check.

Modern lists Powerslots for the 2.0 about $75. Here's the link:

http://www.modernperformance.com/gm/...rcharged.shtml

These should fit the 2.4. I had good luck with Powerslot before - no warping, good braking.

For $25 ea. more, I think I'm going with the GMPP rotors. I may use Axxis pads, however, since I have experience with them.

I had mine cut at the dealership yesterday. I tried to talk my way into drilled/slotted GM rotors... but they said they just cut them the first time... replace with stock the second time. Oh well... I tried.

Well the shakes are gone for now. The dealer just resurfaced the rotors. We'll see if it last more than 3000 miles this time. I also had the steering clunk. They replaced the intermediate steering shaft. Clunk gone.
