Would that kit fit our cars? This may have been answered last year.

this is kind of a stupid question.. i notice that the gm build book for the ecotec mentions HAHN as a source for turbo kits.. with that in mind would that mean the car warranty would remain if it was installed by gm techs?

snowbred, i am pretty sure if GM techs installed it, they are therefore approving its quality, so yes i think it would be under warranty... the only catch is that installation would be $$$

I still do not believe the Automatic is rated for that kind of power, I may be wrong though.
And to the smart guy comment about buying an automatic, I bought the car as a daily driver for alot of stop and go driving(atlanta traffic is a biatch during rush hour )

Atlanta traffic almost convinced me to go automatic also. Fortunatly, I go against the flow on 285 and 78.

You are lucky! I'm an onsite tech and apparently I always get sent places during the worst times possible. I get stuck on 92, I20, and somtimes 360 atleast 4-5x per day for atleast 40mins of stop and go. Thanks to the damn camera's speeding is not an option either

To guy from Seattle, I feel your pain I really do I believe they rated Seattle's traffic worse than Atlanta, Houston and Anahiem combined last year in the national reports. I went there for a Boeing training seminar, made me thankful for Atlanta's road layout!

But like others have posted I doubt the Solstice kit will even fit, and unless the Cobalt become more popular I wonder if they will make the kits at the same time.
It can. If the 4T40E owners can make plenty of reliable power, so can the 4T45E

Where the hell do you live at? Ohio? lol

The SS/SC is popular, not so much the other models.

Nope. It's not a GM item/product.

I am 90% sure that you won't find a GM tech who will install an aftermarket turbo kit on your car. If you find one, he's doing it on the side because I don't think any dealership would let that go down. Remember, dealerships ONLY like OEM or GM Certified products.

Heck, to give you an example of how they didn't want to install something, I asked them for the hell of it how much they would charge for a cam install...I got transfered to about 5 different people and on the 5 person they guy said "Cam install? ok that's $900" without hesitation.

Take it to a performance shop and have it installed there.

The intercooler piping is a big part of it...if you're not worried about making your own piping setup, than make a custom kit.

I bet you they aren't making it for the automatics. They didn't make it for the Jbodies, they aren't gonna start now...

Sure it can handle it, but how much does it shorten the life. Hell the 4T45E may handle 500whp but for how long? WHat kind of abuse
the point is it's not MADE to handle it in stock form

And the offer the SOlstice kit for manual and automatic, the up coming Colorado/Canyon kit is for automatic only. So yes they do offer automatic versions, and Bill himself states the J-body kit fits the automatic but does not recommend the higher boost kit(intercooled)

Well I'll let you know how much power I'll be making in a little while and you guys will see how long.

And you think a Getrag tranny was MADE to handle a ton of power? Get real...we modify cars, nothing is MADE to do anything we are doing but we do it anyways. Please don't use that as a valid argument...

The J-body kit fits automatics??? Do you mean that the J-body turbo kits that's made for a manual fit an automatic? Have you ever seen the back of our cars? You can fit the manifold and turbo but other than that, the piping won't route the same and the downpipe will run right into the transmission.
