Header Downpipe Question

Header Downpipe Question

i'm dumb so be gentle on my really dumb question. i have a 2.4 ss with a gm performance exhaust. i'm looking at the ca header. do i also need to buy a downpipe or am i good just buying the header. any help would be great. again sorry for the dumb question but i dont wanna buy stuff i dont need well right now an yways.

best gains would also be with a downpipe, but it's not necessary at all. you can do one or the other no problem.

not really. the stock manifold is probably more restrictive than the stock downpipe, so i would do that first if you're trying to decide. but really it's not going to matter which way you do it.

I said either or mainly because the hp gained will pretty much be the same either way.

Just save up and get them at the same time to save money on shipping, and its alot easier to install them both at once rather than do them seperately.

hey whats up white SS balt!, engine torque damper is there two kinds for the SS 2.4 L and ss/sc or it doesnt really matter..and does it cost alot to put it on....and how is it on da lauch?

The Ingalls Engine Torque Damper fits both SS and SS/SC models easily. It really helps with shifting and overall movement of the car. It feels stiffer and more precise, and takes away from wheel hop. Depending on how much power you have, it might not take allwheel hop away, but it does help by holding the engine still. I love mine, it is definitely worth $145.

P.S. the install takes literally 5 minutes (the instructions they send are good enough). Make sure the brace is set correctly, then remove the two bolts specified (not the center 3rd bolt or the engine will drop), place the metal bracket, re-bolt. Next do the same with the other side of the engine mount (comes with instructions), but there are only two nuts to take off. Place the bracket, re-bolt. Then put the torque brace in place as per instructions and you're done.

from what i've been told... yes. the CA header and XTC d/p (i'm assuming that since you are getting the CA header) have no fitment issues with eachother and the d/p shouldn't have fitment issues with the stock exhaust.

atleast thats what a friend has told me. he has the CA header, XTC w/ cat and gmpp performance cat back exhaust, all lined up fine according to him.

yes, it's a direct replacement, no fab work needed. take the old ones off, put the new ones on. that's it.

i didn't wanna start another thread so i thought i would ask this question here. if i have the gm performance exhaust and buy the cobalt addiction header what is the best downpipe to buy or does it even really matter. any help would be great. the weather is getting warmer here and wanna get my ride done for those summer night rides around town.

Highflow dp

if your doing it right go with the 2.5 inch highflow cat dp if emissions arnt the case were you live go with a decatted hghflow dp. im putting all my exhaust pieces on today.. ca header ca dp and gm sport exhaust should be all easy. well later man.
